Irma Redman has had a lifelong interest in glass art and jumped at the chance to take a glass workshop at UCR 25 years ago. She learned techniques to create leaded glass windows, then learned the copper foil technique and has now become an expert in this technique. She later taught herself mosaic glass art and after a trip to a glass gallery in San Diego she fell in love with glass fusion.
After purchasing a kiln and starter kit she taught herself the art of glass fusion. Her pieces are hand cut and hand set, then fired in a 1500 degree kiln over a 12 hour period. Some pieces are fired two to three times until the piece is perfected.
She and her husband resided in Rancho Cucamonga over 30 years, where they raised their family. Then four years ago, making their dreams come true, they moved to Lake Arrowhead full time and never looked back. She is extremely happy creating and sharing her glass art in her new Mountain community.
