Kelly Lingel was born and raised in southern California. From an early age, she knew she loved color and wanted to be an artist. She would spend hours alone painting and drawing. Kelly was fortunate to be exposed to great artwork from a young age. Her mother encouraged her creativity and she and her godmother would take her to art museums and galleries throughout the United States and Europe. As a child, she studied art at the Asian Pacific Art Museum in Pasadena.
Born and raised in San Diego California, Scott was introduced to painting by his grandmother at an early age. An artist herself, she helped lay down principles of light and color. He studied Environmental Design at Cal Poly Pomona. Working in the field of design he started his own Design Practice Pryde/Martines in Los Angeles. A resident of Lake Arrowhead both full and part time since 1995 he now splits his time between the East and West Coasts. He enjoys capturing the play of light and water and reflection. Painting on both sides of the country lends a great diversity to his work.
Dedicated to the live performance, promotion, and preservation of jazz as a unique American art form, the Blue Jay Jazz Foundation, a nonprofit 501c3 organization, supports music education in the San Bernardino Mountain communities and nurtures new generations of musicians while building interest and expanding audiences for jazz as both art and entertainment.
